About

Gabriel EstayAcupuncture History

“I was first introduced to Acupuncture some 30 years ago in my home country of Chile. At the time this was through my Korean Martial Arts instructors’ mother, Mrs Kim. In those days though there was no formal acupuncture training institutions in Chile, so, it was not until after I had moved to Australia in 1994 that I pursued this field of study more professionally.

After completing my Advanced Diploma in Acupuncture and the consequent Bachelor Degree at the Australian College of Natural Medicine in Brisbane, Queensland, I established my home based clinic. I have been in private practice now for 18 years. At times during this period I have had the fortune of taking my acupuncture skills to a variety of regional and rural health clinic locations around areas of Queensland.”

Clinical Experience

Over the last 15 years I have continued to practice a variety of therapeutic traditional chinese medicine techniques, including, acupuncture, moxibustion, Tui na (chinese therapeutic massage), cupping, electro acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas for my respective patients. This range of therapeutic techniques has proven to be extremely effective for most medical conditions including acute and chronic health disorders.

Treatment Approach

Gabriel’s Acupuncture treatment approach may include the use of other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities. For example, the condition you present with may respond more favourably to a combination of acupuncture, cupping and moxa than by acupuncture alone. Additionally, Chinese Herbal formulas may be recommended in some acute and chronic cases.

Over the years, Gabriel has developed a special interest in the field of Musculo-Skeletal disorders and sports injuries and believes that Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine have a great deal to contribute toward this specialised field of healthcare.

Gabriel believes that Western and Chinese medicines each have their strengths and by working together in synergy can provide a multidisciplinary integrated treatment approach to support the best possible outcome in patient care.
